We all have those certain products where if a crazy, makeup stealing robber was on the loose, we would desperately hope they won't take them or be interested in. Now surely we have more than just five beauty faves we can't live without but let's narrow it down as much as possible! I'm still undecided about my real, holy grail products but I think the selection of beauty products I have now will suffice, but maybe I will do an updated post in the future. But for now, I'll stop my rambling and jump straight into it.
My first beauty fave is the L'Oreal True Match foundation which is a definite favourite amongst many other beauty bloggers out there. You guys have heard me talk about this foundation before and here I go again. This foundation is magic in a bottle. The coverage is medium to full, with a light-weight and liquidy consistency which naturally covers up dark circles, hyper pigmentation, spots, scarring, etc. It's a perfect everyday foundation which is ideal for school and work or if you're going out on a lunch or dinner date with your girlfriends or partner. Keeping in mind that it does have an SPF 18 which might leave a white cast in flash photography so not really ideal for clubbing events, weddings or any special occasion but on the other hand, it's great for day time wear especially during Spring and Summer time where combatting UV rays is much needed. They have a decent shade selection ranging from Neutral, Cool and Warm shades but they are lacking in the deeper skin tone shades which is a shame. This foundation can be found at your local Priceline, Big W, Target, K-Mart, etc and retails for $29.95 but it's 30% at Priceline right now! (30SEPT14)
The second beauty favourite has to be the Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Shine Lipstick in 13 Pink in Paris which is a beautiful blend of nude and pink. With just one swipe of the lipstick, the colour comes out opaque and leaves a moisturising and smooth feel on the lips. And also, the packaging is so luxurious! I love anything with gold accents so this is a perfect little addition to my makeup collection. It does have a little bit of a scent, it's not bad but also not good either but in saying that, I can't smell it when it's applied on my lips. Maybe in the slightest but it fades away in a matter of minutes! If you're interested in trying any lipsticks from YSL, I definitely recommend this particular shade because it's a wearable lipstick shade that's suitable for every occasion.
Third beauty fave has to go to MAC Studio Care Blend Powder in Medium. This is my holy grail setting powder especially for my oil/combination skin. I typically become oily around my T-Zone and despite the crazy price tag, it does a great job of keeping my oils at bay and leaving my face smooth and mattified. I noticed that it adds the slightest bit of coverage but leaves the skin looking natural, unlike other pressed powders that I've tried which made me look cakey. I've probably mentioned in the past that I think the L'Oreal True Match Pressed Powder is up there with MAC's Studio Careblend which I still agree with if you're looking for a cheaper alternative!
Fourth beauty favourite goes to the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette which I purchased awhile back when it was first released at Mecca Maxima and I didn't even think twice before buying it. I've said before that all Too Faced products are commendable for their quality, packaging and outstanding variations in their palettes and blushes. I think this palette will be a great addition to anyone who is a makeup fanatic like myself or for those who are looking for a great neutral palette that has a selection of shades from pinks, champagnes, warm browns, deep violets to dark matte browns. This palette carries a total of 16 eyeshadows in different finishes, from mattes and shimmers to metallics. You can create endless amount of looks with this and how the eyeshadows are packaged is just a bonus! It's held in a tin, brown case which resembles a chocolate bar and the best part? All the eyeshadows smell like CHOCOLATE because it has real cocoa powder infused in the eyeshadows! This palette retails for $65AUD at Mecca Maxima!
Last but not least, the Sleek Face Form Kit in Light is one product that I don't think I could live without. If you're the one who usually travels but doesn't want to clutter up your makeup bag with and unnecessary amount of products, I recommend this palette. It comes with a rose gold blush, a soft, pink toned highlighter and a matte brown bronzer which is perfect for contouring. This basic palette is a no brainer because it has everything you need in one. I think the rose gold blush really adds a perfect amount of warmth and colour to the cheeks with its reflective gold shimmers. I think the blush does a great job at highlighting the face, without the use of the highlighter but I think it's a good product if you're wanted to highlight your cupids bow, nose bridge or forehead. Lastly, the matte bronzer will definitely come in handy if you're wanting to do a little bit of contouring. I think it resembles Benefit's Hoola bronzer but it's a little more warm toned which will give you a softer contour. For $14.99AUD and $2AUD shipping, I think this palette is a steal.
Well that's a wrap to this post, I hope you all enjoyed! I would love to know what products you can't live without, drop a comment down below telling me! Until next time, follow my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Bloglovin' for more updates xx
